Hi everyone!

I'm having my finals this summer and have opted for the exam topic "Dreams and visions in (English and American) literature". I have to submit my own set texts, and so far I've only managed to come up with a few medieval titles, which is why I'm turning to you all :-):

Would you happen to know any more texts in which dreams and visions feature? They can be poems, dramas or prose, and written in English between 1500 and today.

Any hints would be much appreciated! :-)
Thanks!

Yours,
Schoko

Jane Eyre has dreams in it. A Christmas Carol too (if you count Scrooge who sees the spirits of Christmas Past/Present/Yet to Come).

Hope that helps, if I think of any more, I'll post them.

Kubla Khan - or is that too fragmentary?

Oh, Hamlet has one. A ghost appears at the start, that's a vision, isn't it, or does the vision need to have religious purposes?

Thank you very much for your suggestions!
I've decided to drop the topic though, and will now be focussing on ghosts in literature.
Thanks for your help nonetheless! :-)

I was going to suggest Kubla Khan too. And dreams are fragmentary by nature, aren't they?
