This question doesn't make any damn sense. The overuse of blank should be avoided in fiction writing because it can lead to weak, unrealistic and ineffective WHAT? Those are adjectives which requirea noun.
Therefor I go for F - this is an erroneous question with very little relationship to reality.

e) is the correct answer, because of the wording of the question. The "overuse" of ANYTHING should be avoided, by definition.

I believe sending a manuscript to a publisher with a letter summarizing the piece and why it should be published. Sometimes there is a reading fee. I haven't sent out any writings yet so I'm not certain.

I don't think publishers charge reading fees, do they? I know some agents do but, in general, I think fees are bull****.
