Kinky Friedman's The Christmas Pig: A Fable - much better than anything Hans Christian Andersen ever wrote.

Please recommend other fables as they come to you. I will be most interested to hear of them. I have a great love of them.

I read Squirrel seeks Chipmunk, jersea, I found the stories to be not fables but wonderful entertainment nonetheless.

I agree, they are not quite fables. If you read any review, the book is still categorized as a fable. But whatever, I agree, it is highly entertaining.

Find a book of fables by the ancient Greek fablist Aesop. His are quite simple and edifying alike.
