Hello

This is first post on this forum and I was curious about finding out peoples views of whether; in terms of story, atmosphere, character and emotion do films carry over the same effect on people as the literature does?

I've looked at a whole host of examples including Stephen King Novels, Graphic Novels and even works based on Shakespeare's plays and was just wondering if there were any specific opinions you have on a film/book or on the conversion process itself.

Thanks

I have usually found that in film adaptations of books, one is considerably better and more famous than the other. Sometimes the movie is a lot better and popular than the book (usually when the book is fairly obscure). When the book is a classic, usually the book is a lot better than the film. Of course there are exceptions, such as The Lord of the Rings; both the film and the books are great and popular.
