I lay struck from thoughts in gray and vain
which few and I do fear.
But greater fear was mine to carry
laid sick in dry of tear.
Give not the puddles any credit
but ban them from your sight,
and lay truth to love–her bloody blossom–
forgot in dead night's eye.
