This is fiction, and it's the first story I've written here, since am new. Please give me tips and pointers._________________________________________ __
The warm air fills my room, and the sunrays spread like a blooming flower. I stretch my fingers out and yawn as I try to sit up in my bed. When I finally sit in my bed I am stunned by my room. It’s messier than yesterday. My clothes are scattered around my room, my shoes everywhere. I hear a knock on my door.
“Come in.” I say still sleepy. I get up from my bed and walk towards the mirror. Its borders are covered with stickers and pictures of me when I was small.
“Beautiful young lady, Bethany, happy 16th birthday.” My mother says in a sweet melodic voice. My name isn’t Bethany. It’s Everflame. But since I was born my mom has always called me that.
“Thank you.” I say smiling. “I almost forgot it was my birthday.” My mom tells me to get ready for school.
I comb my long straight red hair and put on my school polo, jeggings, my knee-high jet black boots and a bracelet my dad left me before he left. The bracelet says Everflame in it. It had 4 beads; each one had a different weapon carved. The first bead had bow and arrow, the next one a sword, the other a shield and the last one flames. My dad had said that the bracelet would return to me always if it got lost.
My mom calls my name and I know the bus is here. I walk towards the entrance wondering what waits inside. Instead of the usual, smelly crowed bus I find a surprise. Inside I find cheerleaders from our school and the football team. Great, they’ll soon start making fun of me, maybe because my eyes are hazel or because my hair is red. As soon as the girls start giggling I know it’s about me. After about 30 minutes of ride we get to school. I push through the crowd and I am the first one out. Our school is painted light green and it’s new. It’s called Fire Arch. I really don’t know what kind of name is that. I walk inside to my locker. The lockers are painted dark blue, right in the hall where my locker is there is a window that gives a full view of the school yard. Boys love hanging out here because they see the cheerleaders.
I take my books out of my locker but something stops me from placing them in my bag. I turn around to the large window, I feel like someone is watching me. Something. I let go everything, am looking at every detail of the hallway. When I turn my attention back to the locker I hear something shatter, and screams coming the main hall. I want to go see what is happening. Now it’s like my sense are moving me. My walking to the hall suddenly turns into running. I gasp as I see what it’s standing there in middle of the hall. One of the windows is broken. And a three headed dragon is roaring and smashing things. Everything that’s happening around me can’t be explained, I needed to do something but I just stood there, waiting for something to happen. Anything.
A familiar voice yells my name, my real name. No one is supposed to know.
“Everflame!” I look back, the captain of the football team, a boy with blonde hair and rich blue eyes, is running towards me holding something metal and large, a sword. Suddenly he points to my bracelet. I look at it confused, and then it hits me, the weapons. I press my finger against the sword bead and my bracelet transforms into a silver sword. “Whoa!” I yell in amazement. The monster keeps roaring, not hurting anyone. I realize it wants me.
“Let’s get rid of it!” Alex yells back at me. Get rid of it? I have no idea what I am doing but I step forward to this three headed demon and fight sword against teeth. My sword cuts through the demon’s skin leaving the golden blood dripping. I am fighting as well as I can, since I’ve never done it before.
“Hit it in the chest. Right in the middle.” Alex says confident, he is standing right next to me. There are a tons of questions racing through my mind how does he know my real name? How does he own a sword? How does he know about my bracelet? My thoughts are interrupted by a cry of pain. I look to the left, Alex is on the floor rubbing his head which is bleeding. The monster smashed him against the lockers apparently. I see a clear shot. Just by thinking about it my sword transforms into bow and arrows. I shoot and the arrow goes flying and hits the demon monster right in its heart. It collapses to the floor and seconds later, it dissolved into dust.
I am breathing heavily, stunned by this. Is it a dream?
“Are you okay?” I ask Alex seriously concerned.
“Yea, I am conscious right?” he responds smiling as if the pain was nothing.
“Good fighting..”
“Yeah, you’re not too bad yourself.” He says as he tries to get back on his feet, but he can’t regain his balance. I walk over there and help him up. We walk towards the nursery where he says he’ll tell me everything.
