Sorry Jacquie, but I disagree with you. When Laurie was getting over Jo, Amy was there, and he realized his true love, and that Jo was just a childhood crush that happens to many friends. And it would not have been a happy marriage between the two. Sure, they would get along well enough, but Jo in high society? She would never be happy. Amy was suited for a life with Laurie, Jo suited for Mr.Bhaer. Remember, we are talking about a real life story here! But, Jacquie, I do see your point.

The one aspect of the book that I find very strange was Amy's marriage to Laurie. It doesn't seem very realistic that Jo would have accepted this marriage knowing that Lauire did love her deeply. It also doesn't seem realisitic that Amy would want Jo's old suitor especially since Jo was Laurie's grand passion. It seemed as if he was compensating by marrying Amy. I think it would have been more interesting to see Laurie and Jo marry. Jo in high society would have been very entertaining.
