WAR OF COLOURS
A fight erupted among the colours of the world.
It all started with Purple:
“Who is the most popular colour of the world?”
“That'll have to be me”, White answered.
“Sorry White but I believe it should be me”, said Pink.
“What about me?” Asked the irritated Orange.
“Well guys, you can't deny that we primary colours make up the rest of you, therefore we are the most popular”, said Yellow, Blue and Red.
Jumping down each other's throat, the colours argued to hold the top spot. Their arguments turned into fights. Their fights turned into a war. They had forgotten the main reason for their existence in life – to bring beauty to Earth. Like a bunch of lost politicians, instead of serving the people like they were meant to, each colour was consumed with greed to dominate the world. They ripped into one another and made a mess out of themselves without realising. The world suddenly became hideous with terrible mixtures of shades. For a long time, people could not separate the colours. They were being eaten inside out by rage.
“How I miss the lovely red on my dress”, said a young woman.
“I miss the ivory of my purse”, her friend replied.
“How about the green of grass, the pink of flowers, the black and earthy colours of soil?” Said an old woman sitting nearby.
“And the blue of the sky, the white of clouds, the yellow and orange of my parrot”, sighed the old woman's husband.
Hearing these words, the colours stopped fighting and looked at one another in shame.
No one is better than anyone else for beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. The colours had simply forgotten to remember this.
