Last night I dreamt I was hiking along a rocky mountain stream with Mom, Stepdad, and others. Rocks began flying towards us horizontally from up stream. They were like meteorites, but without a fricative glow. We dodged through them and I concerned myself with protecting Mom. Some rocks were larger than I am, but I was able to easily push them over or around us, slightly altering their trajectory. The rocks came relentlessly; even when hiding around the corner of the precipice, the rocks came from a new direction and assaulted us. No one had been injured when I awoke.

Today marks the fourth day my car has been at the shop. The mechanic called yesterday to say he’d found the problem that caused it to stall and refused to start. It’s the water pump, he says, leaking the control module and causing it to short.

Now it is 6:50 am. The day has hardly begun.

-Later (night)

The 5th graders took their science SOL exam. I took a rough group of boys and gave them a read aloud for ESOL. I was still mad with them for their behavior last time they were in my trailer, but they made me proud today.

The rest of the day was long and slow. I had little to keep me busy although I managed to kill an hour and a half going through student files, making sure each paper was placed in the correct order.

My car has been fixed, finally, so I returned my rented Chevy Cobolt and picked it up, had a few beers at Fat Tuesday’s and came back home.
