Ok. It seems to me that little boys often don't like girls or think about them. When I was little I was told I had 'girl germs' by boys. However, there is a crossing over into manhood where that is all they want to catch....

your poem seems to highlight the two.

I appreciate the poem, especially the first two lines, which hearken back to my childhood days when my brother would always tell me my parents were having sex, knowing I didn't want a younger sibling.

This poem succeeds at capturing a childhood voice, the mystery of love and adulthood, and anticipations of adulthood, all very well. Your ending wasn't as strong as the beginning, although the concluding two lines reminded me of Theodore Roethke's "My Papa's Waltz" in affection. Nice work, nonetheless.
