I will be your shelter in a storm
Sorry about the leaky tin roof though.
Just put another bucket over there, will you?
Your muddy shoes are ruining my carpet.
It's ok. I am here to shield you from the horrors
of realities you struggle to deal with.
Heat? I couldn't pay the bill so there's no gas.
Yes, it is a shame really.
You'll just have to freeze ha, ha!
Aren't you glad you've got me
to catch you when you fall?
Thud
I didn't mean it literally, of course.
You want a safeguard, well here I am.
There's no milk, I'm afraid.
It's off pension week. Want some dry weet-bix?
Oh crap! more water is coming through.
Squeeze into that corner so you don't get wet.
I'll defend you. What? Sure it smells.
It's the cat's favourite dumping ground.
Don't worry its probably dried up by now.
Jesus, don't vomit there!
Here, use one of the buckets.
I don't think you're very grateful for my sacrifice.
What do you mean this is like a madhouse?
Shelter, haven, asylum
Aren't they all the same thing?
Look, I'm a shelter in a storm
not a five f***ing star hotel!
Jeez, you don't ask for much do you!
Balance this pot on your head so you don't get wet.
There! Isn't this nice?
No I can't do anything about the drafts.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
That window has never shut properly.
You say it is annoying but only until
you've been here long enough not to notice it anymore.
We discover security in familiar sounds.
You will find shelter here.
In any storm.
I promise.

Evidence here of the work you've put in playwriting! Wonderful sense of character and drama in this!

I was inspired by the struggling aspirations of parents to be strong for their adult children. A sense of humour goes a long way....

I normally find an extended metaphor grating as it goes on but this amused me all the way through your promises.
