You may or may not know that Biblia, the copyright holder of the New International Version is releasing/has released an updated translation of the Bible. This is the most widely used translation in America, perhaps in all the English speaking world. While revisions or updates such as the NIVi (New International Version Inclusive) and TNIV (Today's New International Version) have been released in the past, this is the first time the text referred to as the NIV will change since 1984. The copyright holder plans to withdraw the text of the NIV 1984 from print and not permit its use by other writers or publishers as it is able to release resources with the new text. This will most likely be completed by 2013.
I have done and continue to do study on the extent and impact of these changes.
I post to hear what you (someone, not me) has heard about this, know about this or feel about this update, both the process as well as the updated text itself.
Thanks!
