- As I stand in front of the door that holds my fate
- I suddenly realize
- Fate is a personified being
- The great puppeteer
- Pulling the strings of life
- Over which we have no control
- I'm not sorry for what I've done
- Fate is to blame

It's a bit of a naive philosophical statement that doesn't really jive with what we know about quantum mechanics, not to mention that blaming "fate" for something you (I mean, the speaker "you") did is a weak rationalization.

I guess I don't know enough about quantum mechanics to justify my naive philosophical statement or weak rationalization. Thanks for the support though.

It seems rather a huge leap from NOT realising the role of fate to realising it.

You tell us it just happened - and include the rather cliche'ed motif of fate as the grand puppeteer - but holding fate responsible for something the narrator did when he was not aware of fate's role is a little confusing. Who did he think was to blame before he realised fate's role?

And is fate really the only thing that impels us to do what we do?

When attempting to write verse, it's very important to avoid abstractions, such as "fate." I feel like the Ancient
Mariner, as lately I've been grabbing LitNutters by the collar and urging them to READ THIS:
