I hope no-one here has been affected by this - actually I hope no-one anywhere has
Sincerest commiserations if you have - I know no-one in the region, but there may be many with family and friends who've been caught up in it

It was saying on the radio this morning that one of the tornadoes was over a mile wide, and swept through the whole length of Alabama. It's hard to imagine something that horrifying. I have nothing bu sympathy for all those poor people who got caught up in all that.

Hundreds are dead. It's so sad; I don't know anyone effected in that area, but my prayers are with them.

Last I heard, over 200 dead. Quite sad.

BBC mentioned 300 people this afternoon. The destruction caused seems beyond words.

I live in the Midwest, and we were just hit by a good number of tornadoes. Neighborhood completely destroyed, but, seemingly miraculously, no one died. No one was even severely injured. And then this happens. It's just mind-boggling.
Paul and Scher, do you get tornadoes in Europe?

Really bad, especially for the SE; we aren't incredibly used to this... at least, not as ready as the midwest is. (I'm in the Atlanta, GA area.)
Thankfully, my community was not too affected, but my heart goes out to the communities in other states as well as those in GA.

Death toll I heard last night: 310. Very likely more to come as workers continue the search.
