Judy's been elected judge at the Lady's Bake

Katy will be bringing a one dozen egg cake

Heidi's doing cream crepes - her specialty

Lynley has ready her famous choc cookies and tea

Kylie's baked fudge a little burnt on the sides

Cassie's main course of meatballs and runny sauce slides

Off the plate around the table causing fretting and laughter

Shirley's prepared a lemon orange cheesecake for after

Judge Judy, the jury, but who'll be executioner?

Of course it's Maddy - by name and by nature

The neighborhood noid they forgot to invite

Who's added to her salad fresh sticks of dynamite

KABOOM! goes the kitchen

KABOOM! goes the house

KABOOM! goes the garage

And for the briefest of moments the street goes quiet as a mouse

They find Judy's legs on neighboring roofs

And by following the dog Jasper's resounding Woofs!

Heads and eyeballs begin to emerge

Arms and handbags and then a surge

Of high heels and stockings and necklace pearls

And that's the sad end of the Lady's Bake girls

I was just starting to think S1 was becoming rather banal when you turned it on its head (pardon the pun)

Saucy, frenetic, and oh so deceptively ordinary!

Another funny one.

The title is, as we used to say couple decades ago, "da bomb!"

It's a sit-com in light verse! -- like the cheesy one alluded to in the aforementioned title, as well as "I Love Lucy," the "chefs of the future" episode of "The Honeymooners," and vaguely like the idiots in my land o' comedy who blow up their garages each November while trying to cook the Thanksgiving turkey in a deep fryer.

PS Look up the song "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the
Evening" by Hoagy Carmichael. Your lyrics (their
cadence and subj. matter) remind me of that great old song!
