Louisa Mae Alcott is a genius at capturing all the stages of life and emotion in this book! Just look at the fact that Jo did not marry Laurie. Louisa Mae Alcott captured impulsive love, such as teenagers often declare, and then true love between Jo and Professor Bhaer. Laurie's marriage to Amy is also an example of this. Though first thought to be impulsive and a settlement because Laurie couldn't have Jo, this marriage actually turns out well. It shows Laurie maturity, I believe. Laurie was forced to grow up in order to win Amy. And by doing so, the couple actually suits each other very well.
