No-one here - odd

A mysterious parcel?

And no covering letter

Brown paper and string

Better open it up

Oh look - it's full of-

What are they?

Look like-...

Actually

They look like nothing

I've ever seen before

What are you

Things?


I up-end the box

But they don't fall out

Not even when I shake it

I go inside to grab

A magnifyinglass

To study

The Whichevers


Under the morning sunlight

I proceed to examine

And find they're about the

Size of fiddly little

Watch batteries

Periodically

Conjoining to

Become slightly

Larger - not much

And not for long

But these are not

Powercells - they're

Weird - and they've got

Strange little faces on them

Tiny sneering snarling faces


Briefly I catch a glimpse

The formation of

Hands and arms

Of feet and legs

Even a head

But then they blob

Back to their

Blobbiness

Always with

Those

Horrible

Teeny

Weeny

Nasty

Faces


I don't want them!


I repackage the parcel

Make sure no-one's looking

And toss it over the fence


As I walk away I hear


KNOCK! KNOCK!

Thanks Delta - I tapped into my inner chilblain and imagined all those horrible little chilblains I went to kindy with - most of whom I had to suffer all throughout primary school - and I stuck 'em in a box!
