I have just finished the rather short and racy What Maisie Knew by Henry James. I had the same pleasure in reading it as Pride and Prejudice, and for much the same reasons. I frequently found myself laughing at this parody of Victorian morals, and my mixed reactions to it. Have others noticed a similarity between the two novels?
