Looking for a specific Dystopian short story

Hi guys,

I'm looking for the title of a dystopian short story where livable space has become in short supply. Everyone is alloted only a tiny living space (enough to stand and lay down). The protagonist finds a hidden room behind the wall of his new apartment that is far larger than his mandated space, so him and a friend move in. However, when family and friends begin to move in, the space is no longer sufficient.

Hmm...sounds a little bit like "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" by Kurt Vonnegut, but I don't think that's it. Similar to what you described though.

"Make Room Make Room" by Harry Harrison seems similar but probably not the one you are looking, though it'd be a great read...
