(Inspired by what is bad poetry?)

I created this thread and never meant to
so it can't count as a poem. Even if I write:

My alarm clock blares the 5.00am news.
Somehwere, lashings of mashed potato are eaten.

The Northern Hemisphere lingers behind
while the birds here whistle Wednesday in.

It isn't a real poem because this thread
was not meant to be. Ok, so I'm using short lines.

It gets my point across but it still
makes no difference to my point.

I know you understand.

lol. I knew the quality of my poetry could sink lower. I just wanted other Lit-Netters to know it!

Syllable counts and quotas never killed anyone, but they have been known to induce chronic migraines...

I avoid length issues like the plague, but I always end up coming back to them in revision.

Hmm.. Smells like you're reading too much Donne :D haha, I kid!

I actually really like the randomness and spontaneity of this (because, half of the time, I'm a post-modernist who views the process of writing and reading as more important than the product). It's always ironic; I find stuff like this poem good, while everyone else generally calls it bad or, at best, "interesting". When OrphanPip gave an example of "bad prose" on that thread I thought it was inspired prose. :-P

Moreover, I like how the poem, if it can so be called, is self-conscious of its ambiguous identity.

I get it! This is in response to the thread about what is poetry/bad poetry!

Geez I'm slow at times...
