I don't roar round corners
like you dare me to.

Scared of adventures,
your motorbike tries to invoke
a past rebellious youth
but I vote for being wise,
careful, dull even.

As I slowly go round the bend,
I approach the police station
puttering like a timid child.

I never rev in case anyone
riding me
feels my energy between their legs.

You always said I was
just another bike in the crowd.
A has been with No Drive.

I am a wishful thinker
freed only by faulty brakes.

I regret the time spent
existing like this.

Without warning,
my throttle lets loose
and I rear upwards.

I power past on a single wheel
long enough to give
the establishment and you
a final finger.

A wheelie is a wheelie
whichever way you look at it.

Psst. Delta! Over here - you wanna hear a secret? Promise not to tell anyone? A couple of days ago I was riding my mountainbike up a hillstreet in a headwind and it was a real struggle - would have been faster to walk. Anyway at the top of the street were a main road and traffic lights and someone had pressed the walk button - cars were banked up a dozen by three, and when I finally got there I flicked the gears up and put my full weight on the peddle to get some momentum.

The chain came off and my foot slid straight forward. I squeezed tight the brakes, and the rear wheel went straight up - seemed like an eternity - and when I looked up there were all these eyes peering out from the cabins at the unusual phenomena of the strange man with a bicycle growing out of where the sun don't shine

Anyway top poem and for the record I don't think you're slowly going around the bend...

It's difficult not to sexualize this one, but really, motorized vehicles have always been fetishised - even in children's stories. People always drive faster in my presence. It's my superpower.
