Wasn't sure of where to post this, hope it is in the right place. A story I am in the process of writing, and one that I hope I can finish.

The Revolution
Chapter 1: The Empire Falls
The full moon shone above the small village. Katel knew what was coming, and she knew that she must utilise her power to protect her fellow villagers. She had kept her ability secret from the villagers, scared for her life. But she knew. The day was fast approaching.
The clear and starry night forecast peace, but as with the weather, there is always a calm before a storm. Not long after midnight, she sensed it, whilst bathing in the sea. Ships. At least a dozen, closing in, and fast. She swam towards land, and rather than sound the alarm, she climbed the hill upon which sat the Temple. She quietly opened the doors and walked to the altar. She knelt, a single bead of sweat falling from her chin. As the moon aligned itself with the window, she whispered, seemingly to no-one, 'It is time' . The floor around Katel began to disappear and so did the young girl. She rose, as if a force was pulling her to the moon, and when she was about 100 ft above the temple, her body began to glow. The land upon which the villagers lived began to glow at the shores, and a few of the elders awoke. Once seeing Katel, and her powers, they bowed, as if the girl was a god. It wasn't long before the whole village was awake, and watching the impossible happen. One child pointed into the distance, and began to cry. Katel spotted the approaching ship, and the glow became so bright, that even the girl had to raise an arm to cover her eyes. When the light subsided, she gasped, as with the villagers, as she noticed that it had worked. The entire village had moved, both in time, and in space. They were over a mile away, and a week ahead of the attack. They were free.
But alas, her stunt didn't go un-noticed. In the Great City, govenors told of the glowing girl, and speculated of the existence of more. Unfortunately for them, the Overlord was listening, and used his information to make the Empire fall. Treachery and Lies. He told the King of his govenors plans, and told the govenors that the king was getting sloppy. Both fought. Both fell. A new age had begun, and the world was about to change in a way that no-one could have predicted.
All comments welcome, all criticism, preferably constructive, is welcome.
