My favorite is W.S.Gilbert's parody of the limerick form:


There was a young man of St. Bee's
Who was stung in the arm by a wasp;

When asked, "Does it hurt?"
He replied, "No it doesn't,
But I'm so glad it wasn't a hornet!"
