I poured you champagne
and you played that flute
like a child prodigy.
You were impressing chinless Charlie
with your 'trapped in a box' mime
and frankly, I wanted to kill you
and poleaxe Charles
with a cheese and pineapple.
I flipped my cigar tin,
with an urgent request
' Beam me up Scotty'
but the Enterprise
was far from the milky way
and all these
alien bourgeoisie.
I caught the next melon boat
out of there
clinging to a cherry
through chocolate fountain
and around the fondou cape.
I had told your contorted
come face
the very night before,
that you looked so very equine
in your needless
four by four.

"and you played that flute
like a child prodigy."

If that isn't an old joke, it's bound to become one! I haven't heard it anyhow, and it's quite funny...

I should like to sail away in a melon boat...

I dont think its an old joke but I am unlikely to be the first to twist it. The melon boat is due out on the spring tide.

Warped and very funny, Jerry - it's a brilliantly visual piece of writing.

Why am I now thinking of Alison Steadman's cleavage? :)

LOL. I have many "Beam me up Scottie" moments especially in group environments. Next time I'll try using a pineapple.

Perhaps Delta is withholding appreciation because of your altered spelling of Scotty. :biggrin5:

This whole thing was delightful. Everything you wrote was something I didn't expect you to write. Funny yet poignant.

Thank you Lumiere. I have corrected Scotty and I am glad I managed to break my own mould.
