Hurl gold coins at me
if you must
My shoulders are sore
from toting bags of windfalls round
and I stumble as they
drop on my feet.
What luck I have!
People say 'good morning'
I reply 'good fortune'
and wade through the rising
river of good luck coins.
It is heavy work
My brow glistens
in the heady light
of yellow gold.
I only want one particular coin
The one which is most precious
to me
It is lost in the deluge
of fortunate
confident
karma
Perhaps I'm not so
wealthy after all

I can use a rising river of good luck coins right about now. It's a nice "pap" though, the paradox that gold is not really fortune. This is five minutes well spent.

It's interesting what those five minutes will do. Can't remember who it was who said that facing the gallows has a way of sharpening or concentrating or focusing one's mind.
