I'm not entirely sure what you mean by disciplines. Perhaps you mean philosophical approaches.

If you're interested in reading influential interpretations of the Bible you should start with St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine (mostly St. Augustine) for Catholics. For protestantism, John Calvin and Martin Luther are probably the most influential theologians. Protestant sects are far more diverse so they can be difficult to wrap your head around.

I don't know who the major thinkers would be for Eastern Orthodox sects.
