View Full Version : Another attempt at a meet-up?

So, I guess I'm a bit bored with my hubby being in Prague and all and I'd like some company. Only the thought of it seems ok :nopity:.

No, seriously, anyone feel like getting a meet-up right this time? I have seen one for Autumn 2010, but that did not really happen, I guess, or did it, as the conversation on it stopped in Feb 2010?

So what if we take another attempt? I am not really bothered where, being in Germany, as long as there are no body scans involved and as long as I know far enough in advance.

Anyone interested? We'll firstly agree on a place and then a time, will that not be simpler instead of doing the opposite?

I vote for Trier :D. Nah... Though it is cheap for food and all it wouldn't be for getting there for everyone.

And we would have to drink Moselle wine and wonder why the Porta Negra looked so dirty.
How about Disneyland near Paris for all the Harry Potter fans?

Haha, er, I think somewhere more central would be nice.

Where in Europe is everyone?

I vote for Brian's house, he can teach us how to read and drink wine properly.

Ha !
I was about to suggest somewhere halfway, like Tulsa, but Brian's house would be a fine place to meet up.
I second the vote for Brian's crib.

I'll come, like a cripple screaming get me off this **** plane and making so much of a fuss that Nato will threaten the US unless I'm immediately removed from European soil  , but what the hay. I've done worse :D

You're welcome to come to my humble abode but it might be a bit cramped.
The major problem with this idea is that the website is American and, consequently, a majority of members are from the USA. On that basis, somewhere in the US would seem a more equitable prospect, but the cost of getting there from various parts of the globe would probably be too much for many members. An alternative would be for those in the USA to meet up and those in Europe, Asia etc.etc. to do likewise in their respective areas.

Why thank you Brian. Seriously, if I can manage to stabilize my money chase, I want to go to Italy and meet my relatives who stayed, and when I'm ready I'll let kasie know, and perhaps budget some stop overs. Big ifs.

I don't think Tulsa would be a good place to meet Gilliatt, because some of us would never get there.

Ooooh, let's go to California! Give most of us a chance to see what the sun looks like.

Ooh! Meet-ups are fun. Hmm, I'm from the US (though I would sooo love to go to Europe. I have some friends - foreign exchange program - in Germany and France that I would love to see).

A meet up would be fun, but real life means I can't quietly back out of conversations that have started going over my head.
