“Let’s go see what there is to see” Every morning before we head out the door I say those words to my dog, Zeus.

In today’s world things move very fast, too fast. If you are not paying attention valuable moments that will never happen again in a life time race by you un-noticed. Sometimes it is as simple as turning your head from left to right, up and down and taking a breath that you discover those magical seconds in time.

It was a gorgeous day, warm, partly sunny, slight breeze. I was trapped in my office. I find that after a couple of hours have passed I must go stand outside for a few moments to see what there is to see.

Standing in the sun as it warmed my shoulders I watched the traffic move up the street.

A black jeep passed and what caught my eye was the dark green canoe fastened on the roof. The pointed front end extended over the windshield and tied down to the hood and the back end hanging over the rear of the car. This particular vehicle towed a traveler camper. I guess that is what they are called; flat, tan, and would pop up to sleep two. I turned my head to follow them and as they passed I could see a male driver with a female companion and a medium size tan dog standing on the center console with his nose pointing the way ~ forward. All three of them going on an adventure, a journey, a holiday and I caught the very quick sound of music coming from the vehicle. Even though I could not make out the music playing I could tell it was happy music celebrating the trip. I smiled; it gave me a good warm feeling. I was glad I turned my head and took a moment to go see what there was to see. Back inside I thought to myself, wow; that was a Norman Rockwell painting that just drove by.

Kitty-cat,

A fine bite of a small moment.

Thank you Jack.

It may not have teeth but it has a certain bit of peace and harmony in my humble opinion.

I would hesitate to call this toothless - it lacks bite, true, but it's a pleasant enough piece. The kind of inoffensive, wry observations 'Readers Digest' used to publish as a 'look at life' - chewing gum for the imagination possibly.
