It's a Tuesday.
I'll be 20 soon.
20 is the Tuesday of life.
I'm optimistic.
I believe if I continue to eat this much ice cream,
I will not become as fat as Marlon Brando is
but as charismatic as Marlon Brando was.
I don't bother with a bowl.
Prowling from the sugar, I think of that moment
in Streetcar when Brando meows like
a cat in a hot tub. Tuesday of life and me
expiring on a sundae

Interesting poem - loved the Brando references but not so sure about that final line? It diminished the reference to 20 being the Tuesday of life - such a great metaphor in itself.

All I have to say is I adore the pun in the final line. This poem put a smile on my face, though I would suggest that Rhyme really adds to the effect of playful comic poems such as these. Nonetheless good stuff.

What a wonderful little gem!

I too very much enjoyed the metaphor of Tuesday - I remember feeling much the same myself when I was that age.

As for the pun in the final line, I'm not sure what my reaction is: either a smile or a groan. Either way, I actually think it's effective.

20 is the Tuesday of life: a wonderful, whimsical line. I'm not sure, really, what ice cream has to do with Brando, why eating it brings him to mind... but I liked the poem anyhow.

Brando had some rather exuberant eating habits, some rather legendary binges. I once heard someone say, "Brando? He was addicted to ice cream."
And he was. If it sparks your interest, google has stories.

Everyone: thanks. I'm not sure I like what I did with the final line either; silliness invades everything I do, and in this case I think, sort of cheapens it.
I may tweak.
