Hello all :),
I would like to ask for suggestions of a key passage from either:
* Antigone by Sophocles
* Antigone by Jean Anouilh
I will use this passage for an analytical essay, about 1500 words long.
Thanks,

Why not read it and judge for yourself? It is not long, it was really very interesting/readable, and (very important if it is for school) it will aid you in writing your essay if you actually write your own opinion. I understand if you are just looking for a nudge in the right direction, but would it not be more fun to decide for yourself?

Well actually I have read them both, more than once. And I do have an opinion of some passages, namely Creon's first speech in Sophocles' version, and in Anouilh's, I liked the part about the stillness of tragedy, and the inevitability of it (when the springs have been wound up), or the long argument between Antigone and her uncle. But my request was to take the opinion of others/others who've probably studied it more in depth, so that I can be sure of a decision.
Thanks :)

I'd go for Anouilh's version, and the part where Creole tells Antigone what really happened with her brothers.
