Bags strewn around the room.
You arrived home
in this fashion,
so leave the same way.

That's my underwear
you have there!
Ha! It doesn't matter.
You could never
fit into my bra cup.

Put my shoes back.
You can't skip over
the hard stuff
in those heels.

Zoning out is an art.
While you hiss and spit,
I turn the volume up
when the soapies come on.

Stop heckling me
for the tv remote.
You actually think
we'd be closer
watching Glee?

Read the hand will you?
Eastenders is starting!
Like a melodrama queen
you come undone
to my sitcom opera song.

I wave you to one side
and tell you
my cup size is still
bigger than yours.

So there.

Great one side of this doubtless lively dialogue. I must try to imagine the child's response. But your title is surely unfairly judgmental of the mother?

Poor kid - all she wants is to be like mom..... or maybe not.

Your cryptically witty style shows you are back on form. I loved the phrase 'melodrama queen' - you should copyright it.

Prince - Ah yes - when all else fails in parenting, childishness is our best defense!

Hill - I guess it is cryptically witty. Thanks for your comments
