i read this book in my childhood and for the life of me i can't remember what it is called. it doesn't help that i got it from a friend who gave it to me with no front cover. i'll try to describe the plot and if anyone knows it i would really appreciate the title.
its a fantasy book(adult themed) about this guy in our "normal" world who goes into an elevator and, the elevator begins to fall, faster and faster, and when it eventually crashes, he finds himself in a room with a magician/wizard. the magician is annoyed at conjuring a weak looking human when his spell stated that he will receive a powerful being from another dimension/world.
the catch is that the magicians spell did indeed work, because in this world, when a new name that never existed in that world is uttered in that world for the first time, it releases great power/destruction explosion. the magician asks the guy for his name and a huge wave/explosion takes place, but luckily the room is contained, and the name doesn't escape into the world.
the magician then proceeds to enslave the human, and puts a spell on him that causes him pain when he thinks or tries to say his name out loud. and then the magician, the human, a big/built/strong deaf mute and a lethal small man proceed to go steal a treasure.
it was a dark fantasy novel, with the mutes story being his lip was cut(or something like that i cant remember well) in his childhood, and his mother(and sister) being raped by bandits. the small man had a similar sad(and gruesome) backstory and they lived their lives in the fringes of society, but had each other type of thing. they were also hired by the magician.
