In my opinion, the novel '1984' is an excellent teaching tool because it warns students of the dangers of some government systems. It teaches them to survey their political leaders and it shows the signs to be wary of. I can honestly say that this book is among my top choices.

I enjoyed reading 1984, but at times I found it challenging to read. However Orwell uses tremendous detail which makes the book quite interesting. I think George Orwell did a great job describing the evils of a totalitarian society. Reading the book definitely made me think about our own government and way of society.

Yeah reading it myself at sixteen was at the right time of my life but I must say I am quite jealous of the students who come on here looking for help for assignments on it. I wish we had assignments on that and not some of the things we are forced to read.

I believe that students like us should read '1984' because of the same reasons, and this book at the beginning was a tad boring but after reading it and going over questions in class it became a warning to our generation about our government.

Who would like to read such a paranoid, boring fantasy that could not even happen in the Soviet Union that fell in the 80's. The story is already a commic. The people taking a look at it are even better.
