Mmmm. is this meant to be sarcastic at all. I only ask because after googling the guy, I find he accidentally shot his partner in the head during a game of William Tell.

Mmmm. is this meant to be sarcastic at all. I only ask because after googling the guy, I find he accidentally shot his partner in the head during a game of William Tell.

Not sarcastic. It's not only a reference to the fact that he shot and killed his wife, but a reference to the daily shots of heroin he administered to himself. "He always misses", however, is not referring to the shots themselves, but an emotion that results from them.
