According to Google (see Books Ngram Viewer (http://ngrams.googlelabs.com/)) relative frequency of words Red, Green, Blue, Yellow in published books was significantly lower during second half of 20th century.

wow this is at once utterly frivolous and yet immensely intriguing and enjoyable to contemplate. Curious how red, green and yellow throughout the ages are always more or less exact in proportion to one another yet blue constantly shifts...

Also right after WWII there is a huge plummet in the use of the words, yet WWI seems to have had little to no impact. Interesting when we consider that post WWI literature surpasses easily Post WWII lit.
