Hello,
I have to do an oral presentation about how would I adapt the novel into a film, but I have no idea about the casting, costumes and the typical things of a movie, so if you can help me with this I would be so grateful.

Hello,
I have to do an oral presentation about how would I adapt the novel into a film, but I have no idea about the casting, costumes and the typical things of a movie, so if you can help me with this I would be so grateful.
Costumes will be much like those worn in Red China during Mao's reign - plain, work-like clothes, hard wearing and drab.
Casting would be fun!
O'Brien is ideally made for Jack Nicholson, if he hasn't retired. I'd find it hard to go past the first film Winston, John Hurt, but since he's already played the part, I'd go for Liam Neeson. Julia could be any number of women, but she needs to be younger and pretty, so you can take your choice. Sandra Bullock? She'd fit.
Parsons, someone like Rodney Dangerfield, only much younger, but the same kind of slobby look. The only other main character is Cherrington, who would be a perfect fit for De Niro - an older, compassionate man who is really a monster underneath.
You organise the funds, I'll direct!
Good luck!
