Close the eyes like I just died

Open the heart like I am still alive

In a moment I have two different I

To see the days coldly tide

The first two lines sort of make sense, but I don't know what to make of the last two. Actually, I like the idea expressed in line one of closing the eyes as if one died since it reminds me of what some might recommend upon starting meditation.
