I was assigned to do a presentation on Robert Burton's " The Anatomy of Melancholy"

But unfortunately, I could not find any critical response to the book

I wonder if any can help me in analyzing this book? to know from where I can start searching

Have you read the book? It is actually a monster of a read... but fascinating. I think that Samuel Johnson spoke of reading a bit from it every evening. The work is something of a literary montage or collage (not unlike The Wasteland?) constructed of quotes and misquotes taken from a wealth of sources.

Hi there,

Just for grins I googled TAM; and I found many sites that may aid your enterprise.

Thanks so much for the insight !

this is a fabulous book which I must admit I've not finished [basically because the copy I've got is about 1200 pages and the typeset is minuscule enough to make me purblind after three pages]. However If I could only own 25 books I'm sure this would be one of them. If you are looking for a critical essay on the book I seem to recall David Foster Wallace wrote something about it, although perhaps it was just a blurb.
