You ask me,
what do I value in the existence of the human mind?

I will answer...

That I feel a flow of a dark mystery
Like drapery covered in a deep purple hue
That wildly dances along with the heavy gales of fate
As I open my eyes to the world
And observe things that reach across the spectrum
Even more than the infinite variety of color itself.

I see inspirations of happiness, joy,
Delight, and contentment made with the most honest intent
That anyone will not be able to help but provide a genuine smile.
Like a child’s first Christmas engrained in memory.

I see visions of a somber despair expressed so vividly
That it’s meaning is almost picturesque.
Like a black rose with jagged thorns,
deeply entwined to a rusted iron gate,
tasting the bleak sky’s pure crystal tears of sadness.

I see hatred made of the darkest desires
an unconscious detestation to a great degree
That blood is all they can see or know.
It's an explosive rage that the ocean cannot quell.

And I see how they love with such an unbreakable bond
That walking through the fire’s of hell itself will not
Stop a dutiful unification of their spirits
Like being a witness of a phenomenon that is truly immortal.

So as I wake up and look outside
To a new world everyday.
Fresh to the future
like a gentle flow of the winds under the pale blue heavens.

I hope that I too will be part of this great mystery.

And then I will answer…

That even though a myriad of confusion the mind can create,
The value of it is too obvious
to bother with such a rhetorical question.
