After reading "1984," I must say that this was a great read. It started out somewhat slow, though as you get into the triple digits the book gets much more interesting. I was able to understand the book fully, being a higher-level reader. After reading the last four words of the novel and understanding what has happened, it could be frightening. The government controlled everyone from the wealthy to the poor, and no page went unturned. They sytematically destroyed any resistance to BB. The proles are the largest population, though the stupidest, so no revolt could come from them. The only people that could revolt are the people that want nothing to change.
I believe that "1984" is a book that needs reading by the teenagers of today. They could learn from what happens in this book, and not let it happen in reality. George Orwell has great insight of the future, and many of his 'predictions' have come true.
