I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm from Ontario, Canada. I'm a 30-something (emphasis on the SOMETHING! LOL!!) Part time public servant, full time wife and momma! Books are kinda one of my biggest passions...
I've recently come to realize how little of the classics I've read. In January of this year, I posted my annual book list (books that I wanted to read in 2010) on my blog and I threw in a couple classic literature choices that I'd somehow missed out on in school. I rather enjoyed them.
Then more recently, that famous Facebook/BBC booklist meme went around.. and although I fared better than the 6 books that were predicted for the average person, I still felt somehow lacking in that area...
And finally, since my husband and I are contemplating homeschooling our son, I've read A Thomas Jefferson Education (TJED) which advocates an education steeped in great literature. TJED was itself an okay book... but what I derived from it was a desire to continue studying great classics and furthering my own education as well...
Sooo, all this is to say that I'm NOT a literature major... and my thoughts and ideas will likely be quite immature and amateur-ish... but I have a desire to learn and a love of reading.
Looking foward to getting to know some of you!
