Socks? We can do better than that surely? I'm getting this (I've allowed it to be left 'till Christmas though I want it now):
http://www.organicwales.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/river-cottage-everyday.jpg
That's all I really want. A few drinks would be nice too. Though I suspect someone will end up getting my one of these damn things:
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRv-qBgMG3OhmlXBIgmT63kqSW-QIjzF_MnAdbfHl7UyJcBAuAI
Probably because people don't know what to get. Actually, I've just bought one today for my brother (and a bottle of champagne). Well I didn't know what to get...
Oh and why do you end up with golf things?
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTAiqMXfZ74gaNdAY0zjRDgKMzdpdxRX orD_Y_Dcnge6PzZudU3bg
I don't even like golf, not one bit...

I'd like a kindle with 1,000 books on it.
It's not going to happen though. I too will get socks, chocs and soapy blocs. I like the chocs.

Socks?
Me, I want Fable 3, all of the Prometheas again since I loaned mine to someone who won't give them back, pink hair extensions, a book to teach me how to knit and some bubble bath:

My very own copy of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens... No more library for me. :)

a book to teach me how to knit
Hope you get Knitting for Dummies, then. The best for me! I learned to knit, and everytime it comes out to have a look how this or that worked again. AND it is hilarious and uplifting. 'Congratulations, you have now mastered putting stitches on a needle! The first step towards a jumper.' I like it. It makes you feel so much better about being really a little bit ignorant :D.
Anyway, what do I want? I want a book of Saramago or Murakami (after a friend told me he is really good) and...
I don't get many presies anymore as we live too far away to go to anyone...
Though we will probably get at least one box of chocs or a pot of jam or so from the neighbours... Tradition in Germany...
Socks is a good one, Christmas used to keep my supply up, but now I have to buy them myself :hand:.
i hope can get much more free time! oh, cause at present i was so busy in taking care of my baby boy!

Some items from my Amazon wishlist:
A yogurt maker
A copy of the Little Prince (the Katherine Woods translation -which apparently still be ordered in the UK??)
Berkey Water Filter
A subscription to Mother Earth magazine
One of a couple of Robert Duncan prints that I love...
Real shearling slippers...
A Momma necklace
i hope can get much more free time! oh, cause at present i was so busy in taking care of my baby boy!
Oh yes, isn't that every momma's idea of a gift? Pockets of free time?
I hope you get some this holiday season!

i hope can get much more free time! oh, cause at present i was so busy in taking care of my baby boy!I was thinking of asking for one extra hour each day (25 instead of 24). As it is 24-hour-day does not seem enough.
If not, I am hoping to get this:

I've been asking for this for years, Scher, but I've never got it. :biggrin5:
btw - have you ever been on the course on How To Be In Two Places At The Same Time? I've done it several times - I pass the Theory but always fail the Practical. There must be a knack because people always seem to expect you to be able to do it.

Last week, I thinking that the theory of evolution cannot be right. If it were, I would have develop another set of hands and legs, no doubt.
I also want a pair of knitted gloves with flap. I wonder if I can knit them myself...

In truth I want lots of things. My desire for a kindle expressed here merely represents that book end of my personality that I splat across the page. On a computer gadget forum I might want a big, shiny, new, large memoried, graphically enhanced game playing computer. On my allotment forum I may want a bigger carrot next year. (One can but hope). On my work teacher forum I may express the wish for never ending and cunningly adaptable teaching resources. At a certain time of day I'm sure I'd be happy with my dinner. The fact is I could keep coming here and expressing my desire for Christmas stuff.
Now I've read it back to myself, perhaps I should ask for some therapy sessions...

For Christmas...I would like my boyfriend to be able to visit me. Hoping that he'll be able to!
And granted that my move has left me with only a week's worth of clothes, and one book...some of those things might be nice...but they aren't completely necessary!

Haha, Paulclem, that's just what I am like. Although I have mastered the idea of wishlists now... kind of...
So for this year, I want:
A blanky (blanket :D) to exchange when I am washing my other one and sit on the sofa in the evening without being cold.
Crochet for Dummies (I'm sure it exists).
A book by Saramago (on principle they are too expensive in Dutch and I like them in Dutch as I don't know any Portuguese; it would be strange to read them in English).
And...
A baby... (ssshh, don't tell the husband, that ould make him cringe ;))

I tried using zip-pockets but they keep falling apart.
To be precise, I want a big pencil case, with couple of pockets so that I can put different types of items into different pockets.

Just sounds organised to me. :D
Riding my bike around to take classes means a certain level of organisation is required. My usual ploy is just to leave it in the bag all the time. (Stuff does tend to accumulate though - such as half eaten lunches).

There is this awesome pen that will record everything someone is saying and what you write, and puts it on the computer. There's a bunch of other cool things it does, but I'm too lazy to type it all.
Anyway, I figured it would be great for college.

Well it's not what I want exactly. It's what I know I am going to get.
A writing desk for my room - 16 years old, hopefully a long career of writing ahead of me.
The Complete Shakespeare and The Complete Sherlock Holmes - I found these at the local book store for $40 each, I was almost in shock.
A lot of other books - Mostly Classical Literature at the moment.
And A new cricket bat - For piling the runs on next season.
