Hey everyone,
I'm sitting my A2 Literature in a few months and the two novels I'm studying are The Kite Runner (core text) and Spies.
I just wondered if anyone had any interesting comments?
Our focus is war and as neither of the novels are set on the front line or anything like that we can't really play up the direct conflict side of war.
I thought instead to look at the theme of war in a less conventional way, such as the inner wars/conflicts in the relationships between characters in Kite Runner and Stephen's inner conflict in Spies.
I tend to get wrapped up in the themes and don't focus on the language so much so if anyone has anything to say about the language that'd be great.
If anyone has read the books and has any interesting comments on either or both books (themes (primarily war)/characters/language/comparisons and links between the two) I'd really appreciate hearing them.
Thanks a lot! :)
Bec
