None at all.
Totalitarian regimes fall and rise, but as I just noted elsewhere, no collective oligarchy has ever existed, or is likely to.
On the other hand, surveillance by electronic cameras has exploded. I think that's more a case of Orwell seeing the logical progression to camera surveillance rather than society becoming more like 1984.
The internet ensures that information cannot be totally controlled, so 1984 is not really a possible future for us.
