Our jobs are gone
Our wars rage on….
I deeply regret
ever voting for that cocky republican president.

Now I lay in bed
worrying instead
listening for the repo man
Am I really doing all I can?

Get kids to school on gas fumes
Get scanned while driving by police goons
How many others go hungry and distraught?
You'd think there was a silver lining
but there's not.

Xanax and valium can not repair
only further our descent into despair
Our children are watching
and wondering how
they're going to cope with what is now

Families destroyed
homes are lost
So wall street can profit
at what cost?
