Trapped in the Middle of Something

Although some say it began in Asia,
we all came from Africa in the beginning.
Some of us moved east and and some moved north;
some of our skin lightened, some stayed dark.
With division came conflict,
conflict that will never end unless
we all come back together again,
which is impossible.
So the conflict will continue until
God knows when.
The beginning ended so long ago.
Now we are caught in the middle of something
of which we have no idea of where to go,
no clue of what is happening;
we are trapped and cannot escape.
What will be the end
is beyond our comprehension.
All we can do is weep
and try to laugh.

IMHO your piece needs a bit punching up - a bit of embellishment if you will.

Reminds me of a philosophical thought:

L i f e i s a r o l l e r c o a s t e r : e n j o y t h e r i d e o r b e s c a r e d s i l l y ;)

... and endure to the end.
