I'm a lit buff. Last few books I've read were Blood Meridian, Darkness at Noon, and Murphy. I'm not in a book club, so this excites me. . . . I'm going lighter now for a few weeks, literarily speaking, with the Steig Larsson trilogy that so many people are reading. I typically read literary fiction, but I'll go into other zones for fun and curiosity. I also enjoy poetry and poetry lit crit, especially stuff written by Helen Vendler, a Harvard prof. that is able to explain very complicated poetry and poetic ideas to the ordinary avid reader. . . . . .
I'm 51 years old and have lived in Michigan all my life, but I'm moving to Seattle in the summer, where my wife has gotten a new job. I have two sons, one of whom has graduated from college and the other just finishing high school. I cook, read, write, play piano, play tennis, ski, bike, kayak, and play golf. I have a cottage in Harbor Springs, (Up North, we say) that I will miss dearly after I move to Seattle.
I'm moving into that phase of life where one begins to reacquaint oneself with oneself, one's partner, and the world. Previously, all has been a race to provide and guide. I see there are other things out there that need to be investigated before winter comes. Including more books. Cheers!

Hey Michigan! Welcome to the forum. Did you bring any Faygo? I could really go for a Rock N' Rye?
