"KNOWLEDGE MUST BE APPLIED".you are saying, whatever be the way of application, teaching, presenting,
self enjoyment, writing, etc., knowledge is to be applied.
you are not able to come out of the world of USAGE and UTILITY.
unless knowledge is used or utilized you are assigning no value for it.
if you are not able to enjoy knowledge unless you apply it.,
its clearly a disability.,
let me ask you,,
do you like using power so much????
you are so desperate to convert all your knowledge into power that can be applied somewhere.
my basic question is
"is knowledge gained with the sole intention of applying it somewhere??"
no wonder many people feel its obvious,
but it is not obvious,
there are many great minds who don't think so.
and i also don't think so but i am not having a great mind still.
one small concept which i feel that i developed myself is:
when you have a feeling that "i can apply it when i want to",then even if you never apply it,....
that feeling itself would give you the same pleasure you get when you actually apply it.,
this concept is a little bit hedonistic in nature.
so this concept would make me happy when i acquire knowledge, irrespective of whether i am
USING it or not.
examples of this feeling is according to me are,
1.if someone comes to me saying "if you throw a stone up then it will go hit the moon".,
then because i have the knowledge about gravity,i wont accept those foolish words.
this thought itself makes me feel so happy and powerful,
i don't care or wish that someone would someday come really and tell me this,
so that i can tell him that there is gravity and thereby apply my knowledge by sharing it with him.
2.some one learnt karate,
he knows that when someone attacks him, he can defend himself and stay safe.
that thought itself gives him happiness and makes him feel powerful,
even if no one comes in his life time to attack him.
& if he doesn't teach, practice & if no one comes to attack(he never used his power),
we cant say that his knowledge in karate is a waste;
it gave him happiness and power, all through his life that IF some one attacks really, then he can defend himself.
i believe that knowledge about every thing is valuable irrespective of whether one apply it or not.
with statement about treasure, which is,
"But even a treasure is useless unless he spends it or shares it"
my question is
what do you think treasure is??
GOLD COINS, MONEY, DIAMONDS ???
why are you even thinking of USING(SPENDING) your treasure??
you use your treasure only when you don't like possessing it.
(here you may feel that i don't lose knowledge by using it,
but this makes sense only if you feel, knowledge has value even when you don't use it, which i don't think you are believing right now.)
---or if you want to exchange the treasure for something you like more.
like: you earn money with sole intention of SPENDING(buying something).
you can gain no pleasure out of a 100 rupee note, unless you buy a chocolate, book or whatever.
and if you want to use it or spend it, don't call it TREASURE, call it CURRENCY instead.
i believe that knowledge is treasure, not currency.
its not like money,
you can derive pleasure and reap its value, directly & sufficiently by possessing it(knowledge) and not necessarily by using it,
but you should know how to enjoy knowledge without using it(even i don't know properly right now).
