Our bodies grow so cold,
midnight weighs upon us
and we are now but quaking shells
waiting for that final exit.
Goodnight my lady;
sleep comes in many ways
and no one really knows the time of day
and trying to remember
will only drive you mad.
So farewell oh my grace,
humanity's heart has been betrayed
in every place, in every age.
Just outside this ragged skin
and pressing forward--
the supreme unanswerable question.
midnight weighs upon us
and we are now but quaking shells
waiting for that final exit.
Goodnight my lady;
sleep comes in many ways
and no one really knows the time of day
and trying to remember
will only drive you mad.
So farewell oh my grace,
humanity's heart has been betrayed
in every place, in every age.
Just outside this ragged skin
and pressing forward--
the supreme unanswerable question.
