It would appear that there are a lot of teachers as members on Lit Net and I was wondering how in this profession, you are obliged to address criticism of your students work?
I’m sure it must be more than, “Room for improvement” or “Must try harder”.
Another aspect is; how would you be tempted to address some students, if given complete freedom from the restraints of: diplomacy, sensitivity, political correctness & good manners?
A few examples come to mind:
“A loose sally of the mind, an irregular indigested piece; not a regular and orderly composition”. Samuel Johnson.
“His imagination resembled the wings of an ostrich. It enabled him to run but not to soar”. Lord Macaulay.
“Rock journalism is people who can’t write, interviewing people who can’t talk, for people who can’t read”. Frank Zappa.
